The study of language provides opportunities for students to become more accepting of diversity, more respectful of others and more aware of their place in the international community.
Stage 4: Year 8 Italian & Japanese
Stage 5: Year 9 and 10 Italian
Stage 6: Year 11 and 12 Italian
NSW School of Languages study is offered to students who wish to study other languages. It is also an alternative if a course cannot be offered.
On an individual level, language learning assists in communication and socio-cultural understandings. Italian students gain a sense of personal achievement, satisfaction and conference as they gain valuable communication skills.
Language learning in the classroom is enhanced by the use of resources such as films, magazines, radio programs, websites, learning objects, and communication with other language students.
All Year 8 students at the College study a language, while it is offered as an elective in Years 9 and 11
Students are assessed through their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, as well as completing research tasks.
Where possible students are taken on excursions to experience cultural activities that enable them to experience a little of an authentic Italian lifestyle.
